He was good at getting people to follow him - very charismatic, convincing, intimidating. In a bad, evil and scary way of course, but he was good at it.

I think you have to define 'Good' first to put an answer intoo perspective.

One could say that he had 'good' qualities for pulling Germanys economy back out of the pits... but the way in which he did it, and where it lead Germany was everything but good.

I suppose if you were really perdantic, and American you could say that Hitlers 'good quality' was that because he messed Europe up so badly it enabled the US to become a world superpower.

And you might if you had a really twisted logic say that because of Hitlers 'quality' as a Jew hater, the persecution and holocaust that ensued led directly to the British abandonment of Palestine and the creation of the Israeli (Jewish) state.

The reason I point out such obscure views of 'good qualities' is that it kind of depends on the observer to make judgement based on what benefitted them in the longer term.

By the same argument, Winston Churchill was a nasty bit of work in many respects, but he still had 'good qualities' in leading Britain through the war.

Lastly, before anyone gets on my case, I point out that we today are only observers of history. But we can make sure it never happens again - thats a 'good' quality that we have.

The suggestion of an obedience class is an excellent one. Read here https://tr.im/eNoWU
It will help your dog learn to behave around other dogs, and help keep your training moving forward as you'll want to be prepared for the next class. Also, a good instructor can be a wonderful resource, someone to help you with any questions or concerns about your dog. Leash training can take a LOT of time and patience, depending upon the dog. I'm not sure what you mean by 'horrible on a leash' but my basic suggestion is that you take a lot of yummy treats with you on walks. When your dog behaves well on the leash (not pulling) praise her and give her treats. Change direction a lot so that she learns to pay attention to YOU and where you are going. It's also helpful to teach a "Watch Me" command such that whenever your dog looks at you you praise her and give her a treat. About chewing, yes a Kong is a great chew toy. Some dogs also like Nylabone brand bones. I suggest also teaching a "Leave It" command. You use this when she shows interest in chewing on something she shouldn't. Then immediately give her something she is allowed to chew, such as the Kong stuffed with somethig yummy. This same command will be helpful on walks when she wants to sniff or eat something she shouldn't. Again, when she does leave the item alone, be sure to give lots of praise. I would look into an obedience class right away. I think that you'll find that a good obedience class can help enormously! Good luck and enjoy your new dog.

Here's one that'll get under some people's skin: He was good to his female staff - charming, polite, and gave them flowers on their birthdays and such. He was also a voracious reader, and would stay up all night, reading everything. He also was a decent artist, though some say only mediocre. And, as many had mentioned, he was a vegetarian and non-smoker. He was a dog lover, though he tried the poison he killed himself with on his favorite, Blondie. He was brave - during WW1 he received the Iron Cross, both first and second classes. And, of course, he was a charismatic leader. No one convinces an entire country to follow him into a war with the world, that ultimately would cause the deaths of over 50 million people, and the destruction of most of Europe, including Germany, without being charismatic.

Even the devil has good qualities. He is the best deceiver around.
As for Hitler, he is known for being a good motivational speaker. He should have tried to start a video tape series and sell it not take over a country. As for his Nazi party ideas I grew up working with ex Nazis and they had many good things to say.
He built the autobahn which was and still is a very advanced road in the country. He employed people when the great depression was all over the place. Money was from George Bushes grandfather and other great financial backers who had pro nazi leanings. This is proven by the way.
He had technology at the highest level in human history which was darn good. If left longer we all would be spreken deutch.
Just remember they did come in second.

The only good quality I can think of if that he pulled Germany out of depression after the first war. He had plans to bring back dignity to a war torn country. His EGO got in the way of things. He also go mixed up w/ the occult. He might of appeared a strong minded leader but underneath it all I think he was just as insecure as the rest of them. He felt he had to keep prooving himself. But he did this by eliminating anything that didn't come up to his so-called standards. He even destroyed his own family members if they didn't go along w/ his genaside tactics. Out-With-The-Old-/ and In-With-The-New RACE - He actually tried to make a super arian race. So w/the scales I would say there were more ill qualities then qualities. He may of had good intentions Once Upon A Time. But that's all it was Good Intentions.

Apparently he was really good with children (those he liked of course) and was a great uncle to them.

He won 2 Iron Crosses in World War 1, one of which was for rescuing a wounded colleague under fire, so he was brave.

He was incredibly charismatic and an amazing speechmaker.

Unfortunately he was also barking mad and insanely evil, which I think outweighs any of the 'good' stuff!

Great question, never seen so many answers! Have a star!

The Robert Mugabe mustache, the vegetarianism, the fact that he was decorated war hero, the snazzy dress sense, oh those lovely knee length leather jackets, the tee totaler, anyone would think he was the good guy in comparison to Chruchill the misogynist, alcoholic who avoided active service in WW1?

A very funny question and its nice that most people treat it in the vein it was asked

Sure. He was a charismatic leader, a great organizer, a visionary. He was a person who not only held strong beliefs, but he acted on and lived them. Only problem was he was crazy with hatred and his "good" qualities enabled him to dupe thousands into carrying out his horrific goals for the "purifying" of the race.

People can't wait to revile Hitler, think about it.

He came from a family like millions of others, they had nothing.

YET, he became the most powerful man in Germany, Europe and possibly the world in a few short years from 1933 until things started to go wrong in the 1940s.

Think also, if he hadn't rushed into war in 1939 and 'invented' the atom bomb, improved on his rockets.

He may have been unstoppable and then what.

The people who sit there calling him have probably never achieved anything worth talking about in their entire lives..

Having said all that, I think the best thing he ever did was commit suicide.

I don't know about "good" but he helped Germany recover after WW1, started the autobahn network and, together with Ferdinand Porsche, was influential in producing the most successful car in the world, the Volkswagen Beetle.
