As far as the movies go, my opinions stand as thus:
Fellowship - I loved. i have little issues with some of the things Jackson did with it (like every scene with arwen that she does something more than sit next to her father silently as she did in the book). But over all I thought it was fantastic
Two Towers - A complete mockery of Tolkien's work. As a movie, it was well put together, the effects were great, the movie is good as a movie. However, based on the book I grew up loving it was monumental shyte. Pretty much Jackson looked at the cover of the book, made up his own story and gave it the same name.
Return of the King - Somewhere in the middle of the two. It was better (by far) than Two Towers, but not nearly as close to the book as Fellowship. He changed the entire ending of the freakin story for god's sake!!
As you can see, I have mixed feelings on the subject.

I Love them ALL.
I never was into it till i took the time to watch them. Its a shame that they didn't make anymore.
Lord of the rings was the first movie I ever saw that had Orlando bloom [Legolas] And from that point on I loved him and Pirates of the caribbean [Will turner] is my favorite movie with Lord of the rings in #2

Well i haven't seen them yet... But i have heard good things about them and my friend has collected all the swords from the movie... So I'm going to go get them and watch them since people say it's good...

At first, I thought for sure I'd hate it, but after seeing them all, I love them!!~~

i love it, and peter jackson has really breathed life into the series, however his next film, king kong was a bit of a mistake... not all films lasting three hours are great pete!
