Kirk Alyn (b. October 8, 1910) (d. March 14, 1999)
First played Superman in movie serials in 1948. Beat Mr. Reeves to the role and in life by about three years.

George Reeves (b. January 5, 1914) (d. June 16, 1959)
Beat Mr. Alyn to the grave by four decades. Committed suicide.
