Three merchants have invested their money in a partnership, whom to make the problem clearer I will mention by name. The first was called Piero, the second, Polo and the third Zuanne. Piero put in 112 ducats, Pollo 200 ducats, and Zuanne 142 ducats. At the end of a period of time they found that they had gained 463 ducats. Pi : Po : Z :: 112 : 200 : 142 are the ratios of each investment.
If the total gained is 463 ducats, then they should be shared in the above ratios .
To find one ratio
112 + 200 + 142 = 454
So one ration = 463/454 = 1.0198
Hence
Pi (112) receives = 1.0198 x 112 = 114.22
Po(200) receives = 1.0198 x 200 = 203.96
Z (142) receives = 1.0198 x 142 = 144.82 ( to nearest)
Pi:Po:Z :: 114:204:145

Piero receives 114
Polo receives 204
Zuanne receives 145

Profit sharing is based on the relative investments.

Piero's share:
= (112 / [112 + 200 + 142]) * 463
= 56/227 * 463
= 25,928/227
= 114

Polo's share:
= (200 / 454) * 463
= 100/227 * 463
= 46,300/227
= 204

Zuanne's share:
= 142 / 454 * 463
= 71/227 * 463
= 32,873/227
= 145

Answer: profit share of each: Pierro, 114 ducats; Polo, 204 ducats; Zuanne's, 149 ducats.

Proof (total distributed is 463 ducats):
= 114 + 204 + 145
= 463

Here's an idea.

Each person get's their initial investment back and then they equally share the rest.

Initially they invested 454 ducats which means they made a 9 ducat profit (each gets 3 extra ducats).

Piero gets 115 ducats
Polo gets 203 ducats
Zuanne gets 145 ducats.
