HI spammer, mothers milk is only contaminated if the mother ingests things like, drugs, nicotine, caffeine etc which a filter isnt going to remove . so unless there is a solid object like dirt or something your "husbands" invention is a bunch of crap. For the love of god dont buy this crap

I think it's misogynistic.
Just one more example of a scientist trying to tell women that what they make isn't good enough, isn't ideal. While I appreciate the sentiment, it's actually horrifically misguided.
There's absolutely NO NEED for such a product that makes women doubt themselves. It's hard enough to breastfeed at first without putting it through an inferior filter. The benefits of nursing are greatly outweighed by whatever environmental toxins might or might not be present.
How about instead of inventing a breast pump to filter toxins, he invents a way for toxins to stop being delivered into our eco systems?

Wow, apparently alot of people don't read the newspaper.
Toxins are excreted in breast milk. Mothers are exposed to environmental pollutants everyday, and those pass through in the breast milk.
However, there is no evidence that these toxins have any effect on developing babies, and the reduction of toxins in the milk is only eliminating one source of exposure. There are still toxins in the air we breathe, the water we drink, as well as the bottles mothers use to feed their babies expressed milk. The casual elimination of one source will make little difference in lifetime exposure to pollutants.
Here's a interesting article on the controversy.

Women have been breastfeeding with out a toxin filter for thousands and thousands of years. I don't believe this is needed and I wouldn't buy one. How does the filter know the difference between a toxin and a nutrient?
I appreciate people like your husband who are striving to better life but I wouldn't find much use for this one.

You know what, no filter that I know of can effectively and economically remove those toxins you're implying this product does. More then that I want verified outside evidence of those levels in breast milk not done by your husband or yourself! Of course the fat soluble toxins are higher in breast milk then in tap water, DUH! Water is not fat.... Ugh.
This question and your site makes me incensed because it implies that breast milk is not best for baby - and will tend to encourage moms to use formula - as if that's better. Please take your snake medicine and try it on someone other then moms and babies - the Karma Police know who you are!

The only problem I can foresee is that it would be very time consuming. Express milk, filter it, bottle it, feed to baby. It would probably be just as efficient to bottle feed at that point. Not to mention the fact that you can't filter the stuff that you are feeding straight off the breast for your infant. You may only be reducing the toxic content, minimally.

ARE YOU SERIOUS ???????????????
do you know nothing about breast feeding!!!! i have seen your site and read your information and still find you to be lacking in the intelligence department. if the bottle you put the milk into is clean and sterile the milk you put into it is as well. the human breast is nothing but a big filter in itself.
sorry no i know of no one that wold be interested in a breast milk filter it is already the perfect baby food why screw with it???

The mother's milk is specifically made for the baby...what toxins are you talking about? How could you guarantee that you weren't filtering the good stuff, too?

Breast milk is sterile, it even helps heal cracked nipples, passes on immunity to the baby, etc etc.
A filter! How can you improve on nature's perfect baby food?!?!
