Some people are more caring and sensitive then others and it take us longer to let go if we ever really do. Personally, I don't think its such a bad trait to have. It just means people like us have hearts. Better to be warm blooded then cold hearted.

Because we attach hapiness and emotion to material things, and essentailly, all material things are impermanent. So we are bound to this feeling of loss, suffering, hurt. Material, impermanent things are all most of us know, so we hold on to them, for security.
