This is going to sound strange, but my college tutor caught me using cocaine in college today. She was angry at me and told me to meet her at her office at 8 in the morning to speak with her and other staff. I'm not a trouble maker at all, I've only been using it because I've been struggling to handle long hours at my job which left me exausted at college, so it was affecting my results in class. I was told it would be a good 'pick me up'. Can I get thrown out for this? I'm very worried.

Whether you get thrown out or not, you really need to take a long hard look at your life, and where you're at right now.

The end result of using cocaine to keep you going will be that you will stop going...permanently.

You'll have no job, no college qualifications and no friends, save for the ones who will bleed what bit of life you have left and then discard you like an empty coke wrapper.

Please, do yourself the biggest favour and quit whilst you're still able too. There's more to life than that.

I hope you don't get thrown out, but there's a strong chance you will.

Should it turn out to be the latter, then treat it as a wake up call, and get your life back on track.

Don't give up on yourself.

You have my best wishes with you for tomorrow.

"a good pick me up"??

Ever hear of coffee or tea?

Don't play that innocent "poor me, I work so hard that I need something to keep me awake" crap with them. You sound like a fool saying stuff like that. If they confront you about it, you should throw yourself at their mercy and get into rehab or whatever it takes.

And BTW - Don't you folks get college tuition as part of your benefits of being a citizen of the UK? If so, why are you having to work long hours at a job? I think school would be more important than money for cocaine.

Yes, you could, but unless it is a very strict and high end school, I doubt they will. They may have you take periodic blood tests to show you aren't using anymore, they will insist you don't use again. They may ask you to attend a substance abuse seminar. They may ask you to do some volunteer work on campus, though I think that is unlikely given your already full load.

There are pick me ups like caffeine that are legal, and a whole lot less expensive and dangerous, so they may not buy your story.

Yes, they have every right to expell you from college.

They can also report the matter to the Police - they are actually obliged to do this.

Cocaine is a class 'A' drug - you are in trouble young lady - well done on wrecking your career plans and your life at just 17.

If your biggest concern is being thrown out of college (and not legal ramifications), then I suggest checking your university's rules and regulations.

I've never known anyone that actually got kicked out of a school for drug possession, instead they lost housing and had to complete a drug-abuse class. They weren't caught with coke, though.

Hi,

Yes you will most probably be expelled from the college and police informed.

You shouldn't be using Cocaine as it affects you life ... now it looks like it going to affect your education and any chance of qualifications...

Ask yourself ... it is really worth it?!

I think you will really know the answer to this. If you know the difference between right and wrong, then you will. If you have any common sense, then you will. Don't do it again, apologise to your tutor and try to reasure him/her that it was a mistake. Think of your future, if you want one!

You could get thrown out of college. You may get one additional chance. If you do it again I hope you get thrown out.

You could also get arrested and go to jail. You EXCUSES are lame.

It's very possible but more than likely you'll get a warning.
Good luck for tomorrow.
