You have to be kidding!! A week ago (give or take) I saw an article in the news (online) that Hillary now wants to donate a $5000 bond into a trust account for EVERY baby born in the United States, which they will be able to access after the completion of high school. Riiiiiight. Who is going to pay for THIS? TAX PAYERS, of course. You know damn well SHE isn't going to donate a penny out of her own pocket. What do you guys think? Another plot to WIN votes. She's full of empty promises. She won't have California if I have anything to say about it. I'm voting this year!!!!!!

Yes, and WHO will be giving EACH NEW HEAD that $5000?? Not Hillary...we will. People shouldn't be so freaking frivolous with their earnings, and should stop squandering their damn money.

Give the source? Are you not up to date with CURRENT EVENTS? Look it up, it's easy. Google: Hillary Clinton $5000 bond. Lots of links pop up, and all YOU have to do is click on one; read it; then click on another for another perspective; continue process until you have enough information.

You know what else? I think people would take advantage of it, as many do the welfare system.

You are telling me she said nothing of the sort? Did not suggest it, or mention it? I never said that it was SET IN STONE, now did I?

Oh, my apologies! Hillary Clinton said, "every child born in the United States should get a $5,000 "baby bond" from the government to help pay for future costs of college or buying a home."
Are YOU happy now?
I was going off of memory earlier, and wasn't TOO far off.

I got the quote directly from the MSNBC website, thank you. Also, I didn't post this to start a debate; I was merely curious as to what others thought of her "suggestion."

give the source !
----------------------
I went to fox.com news because I thought that might make you happy :)
as for "current events" yes I am pretty much up on those - This is a small story - hardly a current event - even by fox news standards !!
you spin the truth very well (you sorta lie)
change your statement "now wants to donate" (false) to what fox news reported she said " I like the idea" ( truth ! )
fox made a point of saying it was a "suggestion"
if your so hot and bothered about the tax payers getting screwed why don't you talk about how bush has driven up the National Debt !!
As for the $ 5,000 dollars the Fox News article said the Government would "help pay"
do you know what Fox News meant by "help" ? - to me that means that we the people pay for most of it.
after all - they are "bonds"
-------------------
Now you give a source ?!? :)
No, not a Bill fan, as a matter of fact I like Keith O. with msnbc.
I use Fox as a source so the conservatives wont denounce it.
As for your Hillary quote, you still got it Wrong !! lol
You even used quotation marks !! (thats sad)
here it is AGAIN
"I Like the Idea"
thats what she really said !
go check your source.
If your going to use someones words against them then get the quote right ! Conservatives seem to always get that wrong.
Maybe it's because thats the only way most of them can win an argument

I believe you have a problem with reading comprehension. You see the name Hillary Clinton and automatically go negative. She has not adopted the Baby Bonds as a part of her policy and until she does, your argument is moot. It's not even an original idea of hers, having already been tried in Great Britain. Good try though.

Almost as odd as liberals who think there is a serious poverty problem in the USA. This despite the Lyndon B. Johnson war on poverty. That sucker cost us about a trillion dollars so far. Still have plenty of needy people, though. The liberals just never learn.

She is insane, and this is an insane proposal. Didn't her and Bill promise to reform Health Care in 1992 and 1996. They had 8 years to do it, and now she says, she is going to do it. This is a lame attempt to get the poor vote, but they have the same question you do, who is going to pay for it, and they are still poor after 8 years of Clinton.

This says it better than I can at the moment:
The proposal was met with enthusiastic applause at an event aimed to encourage young people to excel and engage in politics.
"I think it's a wonderful idea," said Rep. Stephanie Stubbs Jones, an Ohio Democrat who attended the event and has already endorsed Clinton. "Every child born in the United States today owes $27,000 on the national debt, why not let them come get $5,000 to grow until their 18?"
Britain launched a similar program in January 2005, handing out vouchers worth hundreds of dollars each to parents with children born after Sept. 1, 2002.
Earlier this month, Time magazine proposed a $5,000 baby bond program

I know, you are pissed off because you can't pick and choose where you tax dollars go. All of us are. Me, i would pay this tax before I would give breaks to corporations allowing their stock to go up and the people that can afford stock being the only ones that gain anything.

OR you could do what Bush did lets see...
cost of Iraq war 785 billion thus far PLUS anothe 700 billion to take care of the damages at home VA health care etc.
1.5 trillion divided among 300 million = $5,000 for each US citizen thus far.
What is better to charge each of us 5,000 or to give each new born a head start with 5,000?
exactly...

I think her proposal and her candidacy are ridiculous.
I can only hope and pray that enough of my fellow Americans agree.
If not, then we are in for some real hard times, I'm afraid.
