Nope, Peyton Manning is a great quarterback. For years, he was hindered with a terrible defense. I also think that some people kind of confuse "overrated" with "overexposed."
I think the only reason the NFL has a contract with Campbell's Chunky Soup is so other NFL players can get some national exposure. I just saw a new (to me, if someone has seen it months ago) Peyton commercial for Nerf this morning on Cartoon Network. I wonder how much money he has off of endorsements alone.
That's my 2 for 2.

Why does everyone use the argument in Peyton Mannings favor that Brady had a top 5 defense? What about the average at best WR core he had? Imagine for once if Brady had Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Brandon Stokley, and Dallas Clark. Peyton Manning had a top 3 WR core and still couldn't get it done against that vaunted defense. He was able to do it against the Bears in the SB but not against a top 3 QB off all time in Tom Brady. So stop with oh Brady had a great coach and what Tony Dungy was a scrub? Brady time and time again has proven he is still a top 2 qb even in todays game. 1a A Rodgers 1b Tom Brady (Tied for 1st and 2nd best QB in the league) 3. Peyton Manning 4. Drew Brees 5. Eli Manning

Anyone that judges QB's by stats will overlook most of the truly great QB's. Neither Brady nor Manning are over or under-rated. Ever since Dungy reeled Manning in a bit and Incorporated a fine running game the Colts have improved dramatically. As to the argument of great defense, Brady has been a master of keeping his defense on the bench, now that Indy balances their offense they have become "great" defensively as well. Lastly, to you stats nuts - Marino broke the records of Fran Tarkenton for both yards and TD's but Tarkenton's name rarely comes up in the "greatest all time" discussions because he never won a Superbowl. As Marinos records fall so will his stature. Lastly QB's should be judged by their ability to lead and succeed unless you want to forget people like Unitas, Starr, Bradshaw, Elway etc.

Tom Brady is better, no doubt about it. If Brady and Manning switched teams, Brady and the Colts would have all the rings. Brady is clutch. No QB moves better in the pocket than he does.
Manning won last year because the Colts defense miraculously figured out how to stop some people.
No quarterback has done more with less than Brady. Now that he finally has some weapons, his numbers are going to be astronomical this year.
Manning is a whiner. You can say Brady didn't do much in college, but he was actually pretty successful. He just didn't get much notoriety. What did Peyton do in college? He got a lot of hype, but not much else. He never beat Florida and Tennessee won the title the year after he left with pretty much the same team, except Tee Martin was the QB.
Manning is good, but he will never be a Brady, Favre, Marino, or Elway.

Brady has always been better, even when he had a different group of average receivers coming in all the time. Manning has hidden behind the best O-line in the league for longer than i can remember, and has also had the best, most consistent receiving core for years. Now that Brady has a great supporting cast he is scary good. Josh McCown would look like a great QB if he was the Colts QB. So yeah, Manning is good, but he is definitely overrated.
By the way, Favre was, in my opinion, not a very good QB until recently. He was on a great team in his hayday and all he did was throw as far as he could and hope his guy caught it. It is ridiculous how many games he lost for his team back then.

I've seen a lot of people on here say he's overrated or he's a crybaby or he's only good because of his recievers and I have to wonder if they are confusing him with someone else. He's got talent around him but he's also got a lot of talent himself. Honestly, he proved he was the real deal a while ago. I think most of the people who say those things, secretly wish he was on their favorite team!
As a side note, I've always thought Clark was a bit overlooked. It's hard to get attention on an offense with so many weapons, but Dallas is the man! I love that guy!

By the time Peyton is Favre's age, he will own every positive passing record there is. It's looking like the one that Favre will get to keep the longest will be his INT record. I totatlly agree with you about Peyton, the guy is a machine. It really doesn't matter who is receiving, he will still get the stats, and the wins. He has a superbowl ring, now he just needs one more for people to ultimately say he is the best.

Um, When Brady actually get a top level receiver he has gone lights out. When he had good (not great) receivers and no running game he went to the Super Bowl.

I believe that Tom Brady is overrated. When Peyton is pressured or has to move out of the pocket he doesn't throw as many picks or incomplete passes. Tomy Brady is a good quarterback and has had alot of success. With Peyton though it proved on Sunday when a tight end became his new receiver, how much accuracy and smarts he has playing the game. I know that Peyton Manning is a great QB and doesn't get quite as much praise as he should get.

No Heck No Manning isn't overrated. Manning is the best Quarterback in football hands down. He is smart, throws a nice ball, and does nice commercials. LOL J/P I like Brady but I compare him to Joe Montana. He doesnt have the strong arm, he isnt the fastest QB, and he doesnt put up record setting numbers...... he just wins. Plain and simple. He is good at winning and good at what he has to work with. I think they are the two best QB's in football and if I had to pick a team I would pick Manning first, Brady second.
