I am a 45 year old woman who started her period when I think I was 11. I've been averaging 24 day cycles. This time, it was only 15. I had lots of night sweats last year, but maybe 1-2 that I can remember in the past several months. I don't have any hot flashes and am not on birth control. Does this sound like the start of menopause? Any thoughts and personal stories would be appreciated.

yes. i have a comment. my wife is beginning menopause too, and is having wild emotional swings.
as a gag, i bought her a 'mood ring' to predict how she was feeling, lol.
surprise, surprise! it actually works!
when she's in a GOOD mood, the ring turns BLUE.
when she's in a BAD mood, it leave a big old BRUISE on my forehead!
lol

Yes it could be pre-menopause. That's the thing right before the actual menopause. I have the same thing. I don't have really bad symptoms but an occasional hot flash & night sweats. Fun fun. Another perk of being female ;o)

im38 an past year ad night sweta hot feet tearful days headaches tired achin feelin sunthin crawlin under me skin doc said thought premeno pusel so ad blood test came bk neg.now year on still ere more blood tests told these symptoms can last 10 years

My wife started menopause in her mid 40s., her mom even earlier. Thankfully for my wife it went quickly and had no real problems.

I'm 45 and I'm in similar situation. I've been told to go to my doctor for a blood test.Good luck.

the first thing i noticed was a dry vagina. hot flushes came gradually so they seem to creep up on you LOL. periods got heavier before they stopped. i hope that helps
