You can name an instrumental song anything you want to. Actually with instrumentals the title of the song actually sets the stage for the general feel of the song altogether as it can imply what the songwriter was thinking about when they wrote the song.

Some of the titles come from the sounds of the instruments used in the songs. For example, "Frankenstein" by The Edgar Winter Group got that name because some of the people who worked on it believed the sound effects suggested that somebody was working in a laboratory.

Good question - The band Mogwai admitted that their song titles were completely meaningless on a DVD that accompanied their last album. If you look at the track listing for many post rock groups (Godspeed you Black Emperor, Explosions in the sky) I guess they aren't alone in doing that

Probably what inspired them to make the song in the first place. Like, if you're frustrated with your phone company, the song could be angry, thrasing music entitled, "Down With the Verizon".

Then there are those classical pieces with mega long titles, and it has to do with the music itself.

Thinking about it :~
