I tend to agree with the questioner. The same line of reasoning goes for transvestites. There are as many heterosexuals as there are homosexuals who opt for sex change operations or who enjoy cross-dressing. Those transgendered and cross-dressing individuals who are also gay or lesbian are really a sub-set of the gay/lesbian community and should not be listed as separate groups under the umbrella called "GLBT" or "LGBT".

What you're speaking approximately is a double sided awl.As somebody who's transexual I somewhat have had others say to me that I ought to easily be gay because of the fact that is greater handy.you're good that being gay and being transexual are 2 very plenty distinctive themes.yet i might additionally element out to you that a lot of your rights has come from the blood of my sisters and brothers interior the transgender and transexual communitys.while you'll be able to choose for to forget appropriate to the reality there additionally are many effeminate gay adult males who do no longer combination in so actually might you disasociate them from the gay community.we ought to continually all combat for each others rights on the common themes.i understand that my being transexual isn't a call and you realize being gay isn't one the two.all of us are suffering to be accepted and all of us go through a splash with the aid of association however the ingredient is do we benefit greater with the aid of being united or are we dropping greater advantageous than we benefit.I share your frustration yet I nonetheless have have been given your decrease back won't you disguise mine.

Well...first of all, that statement of reasoning isn't entirely correct. There are certainly those transgendered individuals who ARE gay, by their own estimation (IE a M to F who likes F). Beyond that, one could argue that those who aren't by their own reasoning could still be considered to be, due to the fact that a large section of the rest of the population would still consider them so, having been born in the body they were.

Another thing: where would YOU put anybody in the middle, who's neither gay nor straight?

Some trans people don't want to be associated with the gay community because they are straight. I get that. I think a lot of trans people spend a lot of time with the gay community while they are figuring things out for themselves and make life long ties and friends. If they want to be part of the community then I think they're welcome.

Some 'transgendered' people are also gay/lesbian; in which case, they ARE part of the gay and lesbian community.
And if you include some of them, how can you exclude others?

["Len"; transvestites ARE transgender, by definition....they're not a separate group]

Transgendered is what the "T" stands for in LGBT community.

I have a Male to Female (MTF) TG friend. I find her very interesting to talk to and enjoy her company a lot. She has a very warm personality and is easy to converse with.

They're neither gay nor lesbians. They're people who are born the wrong gender. It's quite different. I think people put them in the same category as homosexuals because they believe sexuality is something people choose. Frankly, i tell those bible-thumpers that i can't remember the day i asked myself if i liked boys or girls. Do they?

k first of all were not all good or great spellers lol

but most importantly, yes i do consider trans-gender peeps to be a part of the gay community, just like i consider bi-sexual peeps as part of our community.

if were gonna discriminate against the trans-gender/sexual community, then we are only weaking our cause to be accepted for the rights we deserve. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying u r being discriminative. so please don't take offense, i merely meant that in common.

we need to stick together no matter how u feel.

I think some are and some aren't. They definitely have some issues to work out - and I don't mean that in a derogatory way. I just mean they do not apparently feel comfortable in their own bodies. I don't think there is a clear cut answer to that, hon.

No I consider them part of the transgendered community, though they are welcome to visit anytime. You see they are not gay or lesbian they are transgendered.
