What do you do that supports our troops? I give bood every 8 weeks, I send at least one package a month to a unit that I don't know, my daughter writes thank you letters every other day, plus a lot of other things. If everyone is so quick to claim that people either love or hate the military, what do you do to show that you support our troops? The reason this is in politics is because people on here assume that Liberals do nothing to boost our troops morale. I want to know what you do!

I served 22 years with them. I just bought 4 magazine subscriptions for Camp Victory and Camp Anaconda. I send care packages and I too give blood. I correspond with some that I served with and a couple that I didn't. I listen to their concerns and usually try to get them smuggled a little booze, which is hard to come by in an Arab country. I will be honoring a request for Clarence Thomas's book as soon as I have read it.
Personal Note: I never questioned any ones politics when I got a letter or a care package sent to any service member. I was grateful for the thought and didn't think they had political motives for sending it to us. My prized possession is a red, white, and blue ribbon attached to a magnet with yellow ribbons going down it from a little girl in Michigan that was sent to any service member, and I was the lucky guy that opened that particular letter. She will forever be in my heart. So despite the politics, you keep supporting them, they don't care what side of the aisle you sit.

Greetings. thank you for what you are doing. the people, and they are people, not just troops there. need to know that not everyone hates them and blames them for the politicians. conservatives don't really give a big damn if anyone supports the troops or not. they certainly don't, neither do the democrats who continue to have trouble finding any courage or righteousness to do the right thing and stop the killing of our troops in this war for money for the already obscenely wealthy. I don't know if liberals support the military, but being against gun ownership certainly doesn't sound like they do. Guns are what keep a troop alive. I think people do support the troops once they can separate them from the war criminals running the war and realize that the troops are not the ones who decide anything. A troop is simply a slave of the state that gets paid a wage instead of being taken care of. They have no voice.

The problem is that a lot of people want desperately to demonize and hate the people that disagree with them. These people almost always don't have the facts or are not willing to read objective sources... this shows immaturity, insecurity and ignorance.
I tend to be conservative but I don't allow Fox or other conservative media to filter my opinions. I have served in the military (in combat) and I can tell you that many diverse views are expressed in the military... liberal and conservative and a great deal of measured moderate progressives. It is stupid for the people that act like the military is owned by the conservatives... I cringe anytime a person implies that. The armed services are not a political football to punt around for a person's personal viewpoints. It is demeaning to the liberal and moderate soldiers as well as all of the soldiers.
I refuse to tell you anything I have done for the troops. This is not a competition between liberals and conservatives (or anyone else) and it should not be one.

This is a very wide generalization, and one that is mistaken.
Most true conservatives know that most Americans support the troops, be they Democrats, Republicans, liberal, or conservative leaning.
Most Americans are moderates.
Sure there are a few hate Americans first, extremists who preach the media driven propaganda.
They for the most part are not conservatives, they are extremists and fundamentalists, out to divide, and destroy The American way of life.

It is only the members of the Rush cult that really think that. Deep down we all know you don't have to like this war to support our troops. We also know there are conservatives that don't like this war and want our troops home. Don't let the loonies bother you. You would never know it from here, but there aren't that many of them.

Conservatives put bumper stickers on their cars and vote for people that put our troops into harms way. Thats how they support the troops.

The best way I care for them is to cut their war pay while they are fighting, let the VA deriorate and try to cut that before they come back. Give inferior equipment to them and then expect them to pay 400 bucks for a cheeseburger that is probably being recalled right now by the FDA, then if they dare to disagree with our great military leader GW I will call them fake.

See the libs answers is all what us cons do but they do what? nothing but whine and complain
I served
I help (when my job allows) at the recruiting office
Our community sends care packages
I stay in touch with many of my friends that decided to continue to serve
And most important I pray for them daily and their safe return
