Sure seems that way.Truth is American manufacturers want to make the highest profit margins, which in turn causes the Chinese to use inferior materials.I'm not blaming the U.S. entirely. I'd say it's 50/50.Americans want cheap, cheap ,cheap. Why do you think Walmart doe's so well.As for me I buy American whenever possible.By the way. Oriental Trading Company made a kid's bracelet that was 98% lead.Even the Chinese know that was illlegal.

Who the heck knows what is going on nowdays. Like one person said, big businesses are always looking for ways to make things faster and cheaper. The saying "they don't make things like they used to" is very true. This is the price we pay for progress. People want things cheap and fast. So the companies comply to the consumers' needs. We are the consumers, so we are the ones that have to change our ways and put a stop to things. How many people can you honestly say you know who would wait for something to be hand made at a greater cost? I know only a few, myself included. I cannot tell you how many Halloween items I picked up this week-end at a Harvest Festival and put back down because it was all "made in China". I put it down and made the comment that it was made in China and I would not buy it. I came out of there with nothing.
I wear scrubs all day so my clothes closet is quite bare. I rarely go out to dinner and really have nothing nice to wear. I went to a few stores to get some things for vacation and came out with one item. I couldn't find anything that was made in the US. I found Mexico, Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan and a few other places, some I swear I never heard of. So I took what I had in my closet on vacation.

No. The Chinese are not to blame here. It is the greedy companies in the U.S. Mattel should have an inspector on site all the time in these factories to make sure they are using the correct paint, etc. The problem is Mattel is leaning on the Chinese to produce a cheaper product so they can make more profit. Cheaper sometimes equates with poor quality. That is what we have now. Imagine all those toys in warehouses that haven't been recalled yet.

NO, the chinese language are being set up and framed by ability of secret U.S. government. brokers. provide up and picture----how many products interior the U.S. are MADE IN CHINA? Toys, electronics, souvenirs, knickknacks, gown rings and a brilliant sort of others. Do you think of the chinese language are incredibly dumb adequate to antagonize and look at out to eliminate their best marketplace?? they're going to threat their overwhelming commerce benefit over the united statesand their earnings by ability of doing something stupid? i do no longer think of so! notwithstanding that is authentic they have no love for the U.S. government, and have, in reality, issued severe threats against the Shrub gang, and IF China dumps a number of the extensive furnish of dollars they are protecting, it heavily isn't extraordinarily, assured.

No the Chinese dont want to kill us. Most of the defective toys are a result of Mattel's poor infrastructure planning and toy making. China just makes the stuff. Mattel planned it. Does China own Barbie? No... Mattel does

And they also put sand in the food they serve to the Christians they imprison. So? I wonder if they put toxins also in their food or dishes to prisoners, etc...
Also, it might have something to do with all the toxins they have & want to get rid of, since they have to much polution, etc.
Also, I have read that N. Korea had tested chemical warfare on prisoners also. But it is good that N. Korea is going to take down the wall separating them from S. Korea. I read that the N. Koreans look stunted in growth because they have been malnourished for so long.
I want there to be testing on all things comming in from other countries. And to also have the company who is responsible for the product to be put on the container. And to know who their sources are. Right now, American companies need to know this information. And we are finding out who is responsible & it is coming out in the media.

No. The Chinese today have lived through modern day economic crises wherein people literally starved to death. They are not at a place in time where they can pay attention to every little safety nicety that we strive for - they are in a survival mode. It will take a generation of Chinese that have not faced starvation to place stock in better safety measures.
I'm not discrediting our safety measures, I'm just saying, the Chinese are too close to starvation to spend any $$ on them.

LOL. You sound a little paranoid. No I don't think they are trying to kill us. Maybe making our products a cheap as possible to maximize their profits is the real motive.
