Whew! Excellent question Dr. Evil! I thought about that last weekend when all of those top 10 teams fell and the ones who didn't were on the verge of losing. OSU was one of the only teams with a solid, convincing victory.
I don't want to put too much thought into it for fear that I might jinx the situation (OSU fans are kind of superstitious like that). I do think it's possible. Like you said - they are sort of flying under the radar right now - all the talking heads are super concerned with USC and LSU and they really are not giving any thought to the Buckeyes.
I beg to differ about Penn State, though. Morelli has never been much of a quarterback. People just think he is for some strange reason. I do think Wisconsin will give the Bucks more of a run for their money than the Nittany Lions. BUT, they play the Badgers at home....and Tressel doesn't lose at the Shoe. Plain and simple. And they play Penn State in Yucky Valley....which has not been an easy trip for them in the recent past.
It will be interesting to say the least. Don't count them out!

Yep,
I think the crumblitist disease has moved up north since Tressel took over. Michigan would have been the only team that stood in thier way, but well.... 2 bad losses and a forfiet! Ouch, I think they just want an end to this season. Hart is a great back, but he can't play and coach.
The NW game was a tell tale Tressel move. Who cares who they played that day, all the recruits were at that game. It was time to open up the play book to the next chapter and make an impression. I was at the 1st 2 games, they played half speed and 2-3rd string a whole bunch, that is what those games are for. I worry more about the napolean complex of a team that has to go out and beat nobodys 72-7. Oops, wasn't that Oklahoma, Floriday, and West Virginia. Nothing left in the playbook boys, blew the wad in the first who cares games. QB gets hurt and here comes 2nd string with no game experience.
They will indeed run the table. What happens after that, remains to be seen. If Florida beats LSU, then they have a chance, otherwise they might be the Boise State of 07'. LSU and USC are real teams too. USC also has a great coach.

First off, I am also an Ohio State fan. I can only hope that they make a clean sweep. We don't only have to consider possibly having a tough time with Penn State and Michigan but Wisconsin as well. Also, look at the Buckeye schedule. They had/have Youngstown State, Akron and Kent State on their 2007 schedule. A schedule against teams of their calibur many not lead to too many points gained in the rankings. Other teams have played a stronger non conference schedule than OSU.

It's not too far fetched at all. I see Ohio State going undefeated.
But, come on, have you seen their schedule? They play @ Penn State, but I don't see that as much of a game. Penn St lost to Illinois and Michigan. Now I know you might be saying well Michigan ran into a good App St team the first game of the season and a lot of teams would have lost that game, but let's not forget Oregon completely destroyed Michigan in their match-up. So Penn St isn't that good. Easy win @ Penn St for Ohio St. Also, looking at Ohio St's schedule you see Wisconsin, #5 ranked Wisconsin. You're probably thinking this could be a great game....umm no, Wisconsin will have atleast 2 losses by then. Wisconsin has slithered their way by quite a few nobodies so far this season. But remember they play @ The Big House this year, I think this will be their toughest game of the year, they win and finish with an undefeated season, but in a close game.

Are you kidding me? With what? A mediocre defense and a 23 year old qb that can beat Northwestern's secondary? Ohio state has a good offensive line and that's about it. Probably not going to make it through Michigan or Penn State. They could beat Wisconsin, but so could the Citadel.
Odds of tosu going undefeated I'd say are about 50:1 at this point.

Is this guy for real, the Buckeyes always crumble when it counts? I figure a Michigan fan above all would know first hand what happens in the Buckeyes final game. Let me guess, the last game doesnt count? Check your little Wolverine stat book and look up the last three years when the Wolverines played the Buckeyes. Check the results of those games. If a team scores more points than another, that means they win the game. Its pretty simple. While you are at it, look up the Wolverines bowl game results in the past seven or eight years. Ouch. Not winning when it counts? Lets talk about not winning AT ALL.

I think Ohio State has a chance to go all the way to the national championship game. Cal will lose and so will USC so it just matters that they don't lose. The defense is strong but the offense will have to improve. The first challenge will be this weekend against Purdue. GO BUCKS!

I think the Bucks could make it again just because their main rivals in the Big Ten are not quite the dominating factor they were to be in the preseason rankings. Yes the games will be tough especially the Michigan game, but put Ohio State at 4 this early in the polls and run the table they will be at least 1 or 2 by seasons end and be in the big game again.

It is very likely... Wisconsin, Nemesis Michigan (Hope the Cooper days of a spoiler do not rear there ugly head) and maybe Penn State provide the biggest obstacles. Purdue has also played well lately.

If they stay strong and healthy, and get through the rest of the Big Ten conference games without any issue, they have a very legit shot at the national championship game again this year.
