I had the same thing happen to me. When I asked him why, he told me he wanted to see how much stability I had. He says he really wanted to know if I was going to stick around. For me, I wanted to fly the coup a few times, against doing what I had done in my past, I stayed around and now we are engaged to be married. A good man sometimes just wants a woman to prove herself. Women also have small tests that we put men through also to see where their head is at.

No. They will make an effort to get to know her on various levels, call her when they're running low on cell minutes and drive 3 hours to see her. What you're describing is the classic, "I have gotten all from this woman that I'm ever going to be interested in getting. I've learned enough from and about her. Conquest over." Men just don't have the fear of rejection when it comes to something like this. They tend to go after what they want. When you question him, he being not a complete jerk will try and save your feelings with kind words and some semblance of an explanation. Watch for this. Make your feelings toward him known but if he doesn't respond favorably, move on.

I don't think this is normally what happen. However, when it does, my guess would be because he is afraid of being rejected. People act "cold" to people all the time in attempts to reject someone they want to date, but don't think that that person would be interested in them

Is the man 8 years old? This seems rather immature.

I have no idea! I had this happen to me in my last serious relationship. I was speechless as to why it was that way. I believe that is how that person is dealing with that emotion and doesn't know how else to cope with it.
