For 40 years John Wayne was the symbol of American greatness. The hero, the icon. Since 1979, America has been in search of a successor to him. Clint Eastwood stepped in but fell a little short. I think Favre is the logical choice to fill that void. We should print stamps and build monuments to him. He should be in westerns as the fastest gun in the west who cleans up the town. He should receive the Medal Of Freedom from the President!
Does everyone agree?

sgoldperson is just jealous of favre because he is from Pittsburg and likes the loco (I mean local) boy Marino.

I am not from Wisconsin. I did live for a while in Biloxi, not far from where Favre grew up.

Can't think of anyone better right now, to be an American icon.

Favre can't be the next John Wayne. I can prove it.

John Wayne = Cowboy
Brett Favre = Packer

Packers cannot be Cowboys unless there is trading involved. The Cowboys are content with Tony Romo, and Favre is leading his team very well right now. Favre will retire as a Packer.

Very humorous! i'm hoping chilly does the wonderful ingredient and bench Farve. actual Davaris Jackson won't be able to in all danger make worse judgements than Farve is doing ideal now. final night's loss to the Packers have been sqaurely his fault. He would not throw those 3 undesirable possibilities, the Vikings win rather.

Yes!!! hahahah go FAVRE!

Ill admit Im a huge Packers and Favre fan, but what I admire most about him, is his toughness, passion for the game and winning, and his old school american status. Good ole farm boy.

By the way, true story, I went to Brett favres steakhouse right near the stadium when I visited. (im from NJ) and I talked to the waitress about how Brett is when he comes in to eat with the team.....he actually drives an couple year old F-150....now thats old school

Brett Favre is 38 and acts like he's 68. He's an ***, with a decent arm.

Let me guess. You live in Wisconsin. No one outside of your barely populated tundra cares about Brett Favre.

Brett Favre is the baddest badass to ever lace up a pair of cleats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is everything that is great about the game, no steroids, no DOGFIGHTS, no getting arrested. Favre is just a good old country boy. I mean really, who has ever heard of KILN, MS???? Ive been there, its not much!! On top of all this he is arguably one of the toughest players to ever step on the field..... Football's Iron Man... Maybe he is John Wayne reincarnated!! haha

The only similarities I see is that John Wayne died of cancer and with the way Brett dips he is probably ahead of the game.

Are you kidding? You need someone recognizable to all Americans. Not all Americans are sheep who watch football's senseless violence and hero worship men playing a kids game... I couldn't pick Brett Farve out of a two person line up...
