Winter is great, in it's own way, you just have to enjoy it on it's own terms...
-It's an excuse for cosy nights in reading, watching DVDs, or spending too much time on the internet. Also, if you have a partner, there are a number of other activities which you can engage in far more often if it's a bit nippy out.
-Nights out are great too, as long as you find yourself a nice cosy pub or restaurant to settle into for the evening. Also, I always go to the theatre and cinema far more in winter, and all the best house parties I've ever been to were in the winter months.
-The dark, the fog, the snow, even the rain are all terribly atmospheric. Honest!
-You get to shop for, and wear, lots of cool winter clothes (big long coats and that). People say fashion is more varied and interesting in summer, but I don't agree, it's just as good in winter.
-As mentioned above, no bloody flies.
If you still can't bring yourself to enjoy anything about winter, look at it this way; you wouldn't appreciate summer half as much if you had nothing to contrast it with.

i don't have something stable to assert approximately wintry climate. Winters are long, chilly and treacherous here in massive apple. I hate the wintry climate. I hate while my nostril runs all day long and that i can't even tell because of the fact i can't experience my nostril! I hate while my hands are so frozen i can't even dial the numbers on my cellular telephone. I hate waiting 45min to an hour for a bus interior the rain/sluggish/chilly mixture. it somewhat is terrible. Oh how I dread the subsequent couple of months. If i did no longer love NYC plenty i might circulate to Florida the place it continues to be heat all year around.

I'm not crazy about winter either, but there is something about a cold clear day after snow that energizes you and something about a gray chilly day that makes you feel cozy tucked up in your house with a good book and cup of chocolate or tea.
I think winter is the time when we collect energy for the wild activity of summer.

Just after it snows. soft white, the way the snow hangs off the trees, clear clean air. Then that's why I live in the Philippines now, after 55 years I think I've had my share of cold and shovelling snow!

The best two things about winter...snuggling to keep warm and getting to wear tall boots (without people asking what corner I'll be working) lol!

The way I get through the dreary, cloudy cold days is that each day is one day closer to spring and summer. I dread and hate winter.

Because it's not summer!
It's not hot, there are fireplaces, hot chocolate, twinkly lights, snow (unless you live in SC, like me!), big bundly sweaters, cloudy days, lots of holidays, pretty scarves and hats, apple cider, no mosquitoes!, not having to use AC in the car, ribbons and bows and decorations, short days (lots of dark time to sleep!)...
Can you tell I love fall/winter...and HATE summer?
