I just got onto this subject because ditheism is not on spell checks nor is Magick. Bit of Christian Bias, maybe?

Iwas thinking of Wicca

I was using the YA spell check.

Ditheism and Magick are both in the Oxford English Dictionary. A Dictionary recognized by universties throughout the world.

Therefore anyone saying they aren't words is Kaput as far as getting best answer.

Joe,
I am talking about the spell checks in YA. They've got some rather exotic Bible words, but not Magick, Wiccan, Ditheist, etc.

Wicca IS a ditheistic (or bitheistic) religion. They believe in the existence of two separate beings, the God and the Goddess, though they may be known by different names. That's why so many people confuse it as a polytheistic religion.

Another example of ditheism is Manicheanism/Manichaenism. Manicheans believe in two equal beings (dualism). They believe in the good or moral, and they believe in the bad or evil. The proverbial battle of good versus evil, or light versus dark.

hi terry, i actually just checked on my msword. i typed "bitheism" and it marked it as a mistake and offered ditheism as the alternative.
go figure. maybe it's only in the multilingual versions.

if it's the yahoo spell checker, it could be "christian controlled" or it could just be a real crappy one with a very poor vocabulary and a censorship of some "bad" words (how can words be bad, they are just words?)...
oops, i guess you've got a point in your statement.

Wicca is polytheistic.

That is because the correct word is BITHEISM and MAGIC.
