Your questions make me understand why I do some of the things that I do as an adult, that I wasn't allowed to do as a kid! I jump on hotel beds now, now that I'm 60 it's ok. LOL

I don't know what the heck Fizzies are either. I didn't have a soda until I was 14! I was just toooooooo sheltered.

I bet you bought it from Ikea didn't you? I made my daughter's last a little longer by taking off the mattress and using bunjee cord to hold the frame together tighter and keep the slats from falling through so easily. Then i replaced the mattress. That worked for a little while. Then when those stopped holding it together i got rid of the bed and bought a regular twin size frame without a headboard or footboard from a mattress store. It was $20 new but the local thrift shop also sold used ones for $5 a set.

No, but I flew off the bed when I was jumping on it and split my head open on the radiator..

I was a dare devil and i think I drove my mother crazy because I was always getting stitched up for some of my stupidity...poor mom, I was the only one of the kids that had this problem

My boys were fooling around on their bunkbeds and the slats got rearranged. The kids fell theough to the bottom bunk

When I jumped up & down, the slats would usually fall out of the frame & it would collapse, splitting the bed posts! I was constantly getting in trouble for breaking my bed!

Sure! It was so much fun! Until one time when I was around 13 I was jumping up and down and somehow my knee flew up into my eye, I bounced off of the bed and down the stairs. I had a black eye and was I ever sore. Never did it again. Boy it's a good thing that I was in the house alone. I would have gotten in so much trouble. I just told my folks that I fell in the garage and landed on Dad's lawn mower. lol

We were never allowed to jump on our beds. But mine did have slats. My room was on the second floor. It was heart stopping to have one of them slip out of the frame during the night and hit the linoleum floor. Very loud AND scary when the bed fell to one side and woke me up. Always seemed to happen in the middle of the night!

That was a big NO NO in our house when we were growing up. But....not thinking that mom would know that we were doing it, we done it one time....that was one time to many. We couldn't set down for awhile. You see that was back when a parent was allowed to spank their children and not have to worry about going to jail or loosing their children for child abuse. I promise you, we never ever again jump on the beds or any other furniture again. Our mom was outside too and didn't think she would find out, but she did.

My mom was always home. Are you kidding? I think if I'd
have jumped on my bed & broken it down, I'd probably have gotten my dads' belt, as a reminder never to do that again.
My parents instilled in me, to respect the furniture, as they expected things to last. Each had been through the Great
Depression, and both had been poor children.

The slats fell out of my bed without jumping on it.

Sure did! Tried, & achieved, the ceiling heights many times.
Banged head on ceiling too.
The slats only broke once, as did my a*@ when my dad got through with it.
I made sure to never again bounce on bed when he was around.
