I think its because the demographics for the country are similar to the demographics of the US, but Australia doesn't have the reputation for being a bully of a world power. The lifestyles of people are similar to the US, so similar "liked" people are product of the country.

Because the stereotype of Australians is that they're all laid-back and love to surf and party, and they have adorable accents. Who wouldn't love a person like that?

Probably because most I've seen are attractive, have nice bodies, and have a great accent!!
