I watched the show plenty of times, giving it many chances to amuse me. There were a few good jokes in there every once in a while but all in all I didn't think it was a funny show.
I don't think it has anything to do with racism. I grew up watching and loving the Cosby show because it was funny. It had a long lifespan on tv because it was entertaining and people could connect to the characters.
If people don't watch, ads don't sell. Its a simple formula. I can't imagine ABC cutting the show if it pulled in the numbers that the Cosby show did (or any other popular show).

I personally don't care for George Lopez at all. And that's definitely not racist. He's just not funny. You can only hear "puta" as a punchline so many times before it gets really old. I would hate to think that our country is in a place where you can only have the opinion that someone isn't funny if they're white.
The Caveman show is most likely going to fail. But I'll wager that the jokes will be more cerebral than "puta" humor.

i LOVE The George Lopez Show..
but to watch cavemen live in today's society..just the idea..bores me..
i'll give it a try tonight..but im pretty sure i wont like it : (
