Well let yourself know you can do anything you put your mind to. And you can. Also just try setting your self goals, start small and go big. Thats what I did. I didnt think or believe in myself that I could do anything... I just decided one day, Yes I can and I will. Now I have lost 35lbs, losing more; I got my license at 20 (i was a late starter); I fell in love again and just got married; He is in iraq and often I think I cant handle this, but I tell myself I can and keep fighting that battle. It also helped me to think about the rewards I would get.. Like Not having to ask someone to take me somewhere at the age of 19... Or being alone anymore, Or being called fat (while Im walking cause I cant drive) Everything has a reward, And you just have to kinda look forward to that, while telling yourself you can do it. Some goals take longer than others, but in the end the reward is still just as good. And you get a wonderful feeling knowing you did something you thought you never would or could. Good luck.

I write military fiction novels and my book counterpart is nicknamed "Twister" because he strikes out of nowhere like tornadoes do at times. I made a sign in Word and have it hanging on my wall. It says "What would Twister do?" It's a play on "What would Jesus do?" I look at the sign if I need motivation and think about how I would do things if I was my book counterpart. It's a guaranteed thing for me.

I'll venture to the bathroom look at myself in the mirror and remind myself how good lookin I am, then come to Y!A to boost my confidence in my intelligence (a lot of idiotic people here), and finally I'll look back on my life and realize I'm a damn good person. After that lovely bit of reassurance it's back to life and livin it how it needs to be lived.

I threaten myself.
I say, "If you don't man up and finish the report, I will staple your face to a taxi and tell him to speed off!"
I'm pretty intimidated of myself and find this regularly works.
It's bad though when I do fail, and actually have to follow through with the threat. I'm not getting out of this cast for 3 more weeks.

I pray and surround myself with people that I love and trust. Also, helping others is another way that I encourage myself.

I have a set of affirmations that I've been reviewing at the start of each day - for years now. They remind me of the purpose of my life, and the wonderful resources that support my purpose.
