The Cowboys throughout their history have either been despised or appreciated,no middle ground, both reasons are because of their success, the Cowboy haters come out of the woodwork every time the Cowboys have a team that might make it to the super bowl, they can put them down all they want, but how can they not accept the fact that 5 super bowl throphies belong to the Cowboys, and getting ready to go for # 6
As for being America's Team, that was pinned on them by the media when they saw that everywhere they played there were thousands of Cowboys fans

What a lot of people have said on here is true. Winning breeds jealousy by fans of other teams, which eventually turns into hate. I know a lot of Pats fans are jealous because the Cowboys have the label of America's Team, which goes all the way back to the late 1960's and 1970's. One thing is for sure, the Cowboys dynasty of the 1990's(winning 3 of 4 Superbowls) is still one of the greatest of all time. Another stunning fact is that of 40 Superbowls, the Cowboys have been to 8. That's a whopping 20%.

I don't hate the Cowboys because they are winners. I like PIT and SF. They had quality, respectful players. The Cowboys have had their share of thugs: Erik Williams, Michael Irving, and now, Tank Johnson. They are "America's team" because they have won so much. Why weren't the Steelers "America's team" when they won 4 SB's beating DAL twice?
I believe they have more non-hardcore football fans than any other team because they are a "cool team."
The Patriots also do not seem to have the fan base as Dal. Why not? They have won 3 out of 4 SB's in the last 4 years. Because they are not "cool" enough?
In addition, I didn't mind them when Tom Landry was their coach. The whole team had class. I think most of the hate is directed at Jerry Jones indirectly.

Its simple there are so many haters because there are so many who love them. Alot of people I know who are Cowboys haters are haters because a friend or a sibling of theres is a big Cowboys fan and they just want to be the opposite. Plus they are more popular than any other team in the world.

I hate them from way back, when my Steelers were kicking their butts in the Superbowl. I think the "America's Team" label is a bunch of crap. Jerry Jones is not likable at all. Cowboys fans are very annoying. I really don't have anything against any of their individual players (except T.O.). I just can't stand Texas, Cowboys fans, and how people from Texas think they are better than everyone else. I met alot in Texans when I was in the Army, and almost every single one was an ******. I had the misfortune of having to spend a week in the Frisco-Plano area this past spring and it was really one of the worst weeks of my life.
These are my many reasons for hating the Cowboys. It has nothing to do with their winning, I'm a Steelers fan. My team has actually been winning for the last 10 years, unlike the Cowgirls.
And it is alot of fun to rile up Cowgirls fans.

In america you're alternately for or against everything, it's the nature of the beast, it's how we deal with things.
Pro Football brings out the best and the worst in humanity. We openly root and rally for what we believe in and show horrific disdain and ill behavior towards those we don't.
Pro Football keys into the tribal nature of our humanity and magnifies it 10 fold.
It's worse for the Cowboys because of the marketing machine that is behind them has amplified their presence to a global nature. Anybody who knows anything about football knows something about the Cowboys..that excites alot of people and pisses the rest off...it's the nature of the beast.

Uh, because they are just that. HATERS!
Everyone talks crap about how are they Americas team? I just read on Yahoo sports under the article about Ricky Williams that it is because they have gotten more votes as favorite team in the NFL during polls and surveys. That has a lot to do with the fact that there are so many people in the U.S. that love them! Everybody says I didn't vote for them. Okay well not everyone voted for Bush either, but who is the president???????

This is going to sound weird... and probably make some of you feel old (sorry!), but I honestly remember making signs in second grade for the Steelers to beat the Cowboys in the super bowl.
I've been a Cowboys hater ever since!!!
So, for me, it isn't jealousy at all.

I'm not a Cowboy hater... I just happen to like my team better. Besides, my team is the most hated of the AFC because people are jealous that we have 5 rings...
If you came to Pittsburgh, you'd find that we're normal blue-collared folk who love our Steelers, Iron City beer, and pierogies!

Dallas has been a dynasty since the 70's,and they fore extremely hard to beat. Also, they are one of the Big cities with big dollars, like in baseball, yankey's are good all the time because they have revenue.Anytime your team is in the big dollar bracket, you can draft, pickup players, and trade to make your team hard to beat.People hate Dallas because they beat they favorite teams on a consistant basis.Dallas was tabbed america's favorite team because of the Star on the helmet, not because of their winning percentage
