Make sure you elect a President willing to pursue the terrorists rather than one who is looking to terrorize young interns.

I don't understand why you expect a lesson from it but here's one (I knew this before 9/11).
Don't trust your government.
Not because I think they did it, I don't have any evidence of that. But because of the way the try to explain what happened. The whole report is shameful. It seems I know more from what I saw without research than the investigators.
Plus, the aftermath. The terrorist were all saudi arabians (or almost all) but Iran was involved, Iran has something to do with it, Iran is behind the whole plan, Iran... then one day Iraq was invaded!
I mean, it's just a letter, no big deal. But don't you feel like they have been lying to you?

Holy Cow, I wanted to say that. Some religions DO make people stupid.
And Busting Yuma poser, That 'intern chaser' you are referring to, DID go after terrorists. After he became president, he learned of a plot by Saddam The Insane to assassinate president George Bush senior and sent bombers to Iraq and bombed Baghdad. AND while he was tide up with the intern mess, he sent bombers to the middle east to kill Osama Ben laden on a tip where he was, and missed him by meer minutes. Then everyone said "well, he just did that to draw attention away from the mess he was in with Monica." The information on the 9-11 hijackers was obtained under Clinton's administration and handed to Con. Rice and Bush at his ranch a month before 9-11. It stater an attack was thought imminent and suspected it would be carried out by air. I don't know about you, but I would have put Sky Marshals on every major flight. THAT should have been a no-brainer!

That the U.S. is well on its way out as a world power. Can you imagine the Russians in the 50s, or the Vietnamese in the 60s, or even the Iranians in the 70s doing something like that? No way! Enjoy the slide -- go to the bars, the movies, the museums -- enjoy yourself, 'cause Nero will soon be fiddling on the White House balcony while the country burns and we attack innocent bystanders like Iraq.

no longer plenty a lesson because of the fact the marvelous reality that the perpetrators disappeared decrease back into society and weren't in any respect extra to account. further unusual that the superpowers did no longer something to intervene - it grew to become into left to the Vietnamese to handle the mess, regardless of having long gone with the aid of between the bloodiest wars of their historic past. the authentic lesson is that we neeed to be vigilant - it happened until now, it has happened back, and it continues to be happening in some places - the place is the United countries in all of this.

not to mention
Trillions upon TRILLIONS of dollars
and we still are VERY VUNERABLE

That the British and American calendars operate differently. Sept 11th versus 9th November.
Johnny Towel-Head learnt that, and so his next bus bomb in England was on 7th July. Considerate of him, really.

That there are indeed people out there who will do whatever they can, no matter how barbaric to achieve their ends of destroying western culture so that they may 'advance' theirs further, particularly resorting to the murder of innocent civilians.

That security is an illusion. Terrorists can strike anywhere at any time. Now I know that we have not been attacked at home since the war began, but I firmly believe this is due to their resources being strained to fight us in the Middle East. There is one thing that I am sure of though. This is the fact that we will be attacked again. This will occur because we will get complacent and let our guard down again.
