Location, location, location.
Check your maps. Add Iran, Afghanistan??? The Persian Gulf.
Sure we won't be leaving anytime soon.
Pelosi was on "THE VIEW" today. Avoided all the questions and why if the Dem front runners say we will be in until perhaps 2013 do you say this Congress can end the war?? She just went on her own and said mostly well, that is what we plan to do separate from them. Right. Like she enjoys her job and Hillarious is watching. Well, maybe Bill is.
RE: THE Plane. Dumbest thing to do straight outta the box then fly on your own doing work in countries when the President says no. The cost to taxpayers is extreme. Bad enough Hillary wants to baby gift each newborn with a $5,000 start up package? Who is she anyway? Working for the Mom vote? WHO pays?
Iraq is a world political center or now will be. Least volatile of all w/out Saddam. Controlling the different factions there is costing us too many lives. Circle on back to Congress, Senate all who deny funds to protect our brave soldier's with better armor. A Speaker who is out of touch. Senators absent due to campaign funding. She could not lead a horse to water in my opinion.
NOTHING will change if we as American's do not vote for a different kind of leadership. I try to be bi-partisan but Republican John McCain is in my idea the only dude to work this crap out. He knows the military can clean up waste. He knows political wrangling and can clean up (co-wrote campaign finance reform bill --- A start!). Thank you.

As opposed to the largest embassy worth $800 million? What about the largest embassy worth $200 million?
As to why the Baghdad embassy is to be so large, I assume it's because there's no one there to protect it. More ominously, I think it's an indication that Cheney-Bush always intended to occupy Iraq forever and ever and ever, a permanent American protectorate in the heart of Oilworld.
And I was NEVER one who blamed the war on oil before, even while I opposed the war from Day Negative 400-Plus.

The way I see it there is a corporation that is building that building and billing the US government for it.
Theres this built in 3% profit, so the higher the cost of the project the higher the outcome of that 3% is going to be.
From what I can tell the majority of whats going on in Iraq in 2005, 06, and 07 and into 08 is after we took over this country we sent in our troops and private security (at taxpayer expense) to secure the land so that these contractors could go in building buildinds . .
we hear the rheotic all the time, the schools and hospitals that are being built, and money is going to the contractors.
What I propose is that instead of these illegal wars and illegal occupations, that cost US taxpayers 1 billion a day and only lead to a 3 million dollar profit, and US soliders are dieing,
instead lets just agree that we will set aside 30 million every day, so that the rich friends of the politicans can get their money - more money even,
we'd save taxpayers 970 million, and no US soliders will have to die.
I think my proposal has merit.

America is a nation whose rein is pulled by Israel, the traitors who took US to Iraq sold the people of US. About a million Iraqi deaths later, about a trillion $s wasted, many Americans still haven't awakened as there are millions of Christian Zionists, Israel's useful idiots! How much ahead would American economy be had it not been for the waste on Zionist agenda! And now they want Iran invaded.

I have no answer, only an addendum to your question:
Why is the largest embassy worth 600 million being built in Iraq, and why do only a dozen of its 1100 employees speak Arabic?
Do the invasion and occupation perhaps have nothing to do with Iraqi sovereignty or democracy; or with anything other than projecting US military and corporate power into the Middle East?
Oops!! I think I might have answered our question after all....

The government build with a punctured bottom bucket.
Every bucket of sand, water or concrete going from the storage to the building site let a trail of spilled material.
If they use one cubic meter of sand, one part is always left behind and spread among friends... of the government.
So, why build a 10 million embassy? if a regular bucket allows them to keep a cup, why not use a jumbo size bucket?
What incentive they have to do otherwise?
If I save money in my projects my company makes more money and gives me a bonus. If the government saves money, they don't make anything out of it and their friends makes nothing.
It's simple math and human nature...

This embassy is a sickening display of American arrogance and opulence.
It is really quite unbelievable that the American people are not up in arms about the whole project.
Oh. Wait. I guess that would require that they get up off the couch.
