Mel... graph that line. You'll see that it is just a vertical line. So all you really need to do is average the y coordinates. The answer will be (4, 1)

In general, the mid-point is found by taking the average of the x-coordinates, and the average of the y-coordinates. It's very easy once you try it on your own.

I'll help you with this one, showing you step by step, but you should be able to do any others on your own.

(4, 4) and (4, -2)
(x1, y1) and (x2, y2)

The x coordinates (x1 and x2) are 4 and 4. Add them and divide by 2 to get the average:
(4+4)/2 = 4

Not surprisingly, the average if the x-coordinates (when they are the same) is just 4.

Now the y-coordinates (y1 and y2) are 4 and -2. Add them and divide by 2 to get the average:
(4 + -2)/2 = 2/2 = 1

So your midpoint is (4, 1)

You should confirm this with a drawing if you aren't sure.

x1=4 y1=4 x2=4 y2=-2
midpoint = (x1+x2)/2, (y1+y2)/2
=(4+4)/2=8/2=4
and
(4-2)/2=2/2=1
(4,1) is the midpoint
