How many of you have had intercourse before marriage? Why did you do it and was it worth it? I am saving myself for my husband only, but I interested in others' opinions...

AJ I must admit that I did not save myself. I was just a kid when I married my first wife, I was 19 and she 18. At the time it was a time of free love and free sex and we thought we knew the world and so practiced beforehand. Obviously then I wasn't a virgin for my recent wife either. I must applaud you for your beliefs and values however and for the fact that you haven't bought into the sexual desires that are previlant in us all. Today's youth are so, or so it appears anyways, willing to give of themselves to freely and believe that sex is equated to love. By becoming active that it makes them appear older and wiser but do not think of the future and/or any STI's that may accompany being to active. Best of luck to you and trust me when I let you know that your husband will apprecaite the fact that you have saved yourself for him.

Most people now do. But on the occasion that a man marries a woman that has never been with anyone else... it is very special. My wife has never been with anyone else, though we were together before marriage. I guess its just difficult to explain. People who have never known this sacred connection probably wouldnt understand at all, but it truly is something worth more than can be explained.
If you want that for yourself and your husband, then wait or make sure that he knows, it means mariage even if it hasnt happened yet.

My personal opinion is that I couldnt marry someone i hadnt had intercourse with, I was with my husband 9 years before I got married i dont think I could have coped all that time without it! If I was younger than I may have waited. I hope its worth the wait x

I had sex before marriage and i believe that saving yourself is a wonderfuul thing but if you get out there and play the field now you get more knowledgable and a lot less chance to stray because you know what is going on better than you would if you knew nothing about it.

Sort of,

I hadn't when I married my ex-wife, which meant by the time I got married to my wife, I had.

Honestly, even though I was married when I did it for the first time, I wish to this day I hadn't married this woman and saved myself for my wife. My wife waited for me and I feel bad that I couldn't say the same for her. Although our first time was a bit award for her, I am so grateful that she was willing to share herself only with me.

The main problem (excluding religious belief) I see with not waiting, is the fact that you forever are comparing your previous encounters with your current relationship. I try to avoid that, you can't avoid it all the time. Even my wife will once in a while ask me about what my ex-wife was like in bed. Fortunately for me my ex married me in order to have a father for her kid, so she view sex as a obligation, not as something to enjoy. Needless to say, it wasn't very good and I can tell my wife that every time.

I suggest waiting. If you are teenager, you don't need to responsibilities related to having sex (unplanned pregnancy, STD, emotional issue, other people finding out, etc). If you are and adult, only you can decided if you want to wait or not, but just remember that if you don't and you end up not getting married, you will forever have this memory in the back of your mind.

How many of you have had intercourse before marriage? I did.
Why did you do it and was it worth it? He seduced me. It was just about as good as a girl's first time could be.

Absolutely. It never occured to me to save myself. I wanted to experience different things before settling down with my husband. Yes, it was worth it, I wouldn't have done it any other way.

First started having sex when I was 16. I have slept with 6 people (two being females), one was my ex and another is my hubby.

I did it because I didn't want to look back one day and say if only or to start thinking about what I had missed out on. But the biggest reason was to find out what I like in bed.

I have.

The first time was because I was too young and stupid to realise I could say no and I wasn't obliged.

The second partner is my life partner.

Although I regret the first and wish I'd saved my self for my life partner I'm glad that I know how special he is and how lucky I am to have him in comparison.

I did it alot and it is fantastic. More power to you for you sacrificing the best sex in your life for your husband who most likely will not be that good.
