I am completely committed to my husband thank you very much! And if you love the person it WILL work and yuo WON'T cheat. Is somebody going through a divorce? You seem bitter.

I also disagree with your premise that MOST people cheat.
I too have heard the statistics that place the number of people who cheat as high as %60 and the divorce rate at %50, but I don't know the methodology behind those numbers. For example, if you poll 5 people, one of whom has been married 6 times, the statistics are going to skew badly.
Personally, I know many people who have been divorced, some more than once. But, in my experience, most married people are committed and happy about their marriages. Perhaps that is because of where I live and who I know, but I still believe it is more 'real'.
So why marry? There are several reasons, and frankly, I shouldn't have to explain them. They are well known to anyone interested in being part of a family. If you don't know or understand what those are, then there is nothing I can say to change your opinion.

Who loses everything in a divorce? Not both people. Usually it is the man. So the contract would seem to be something women would want (without the prenup).

I would love to be married to show the world how much I love my husband. To make a statement that yes I'm taken, yes I'm in love!
You must have been in a bad relationship. Not everyone cheats

Why do people bother with marriage in the first place?

I guess love is optimistic?
That, or people are suckers!
But you could apply your reasoning to:
Why do people bother with living?
Statistics show we're all going to die anyway, so why bother living?
Are you against marriage then?

Ughhh.... from my own observation I can tell you that a lot of marriages DON'T fail.
But sounds like you've already formed your opinion on the topic and are looking for people to support you, not to disagree.....

because it is God's plan; if most people would go back to God's way then we would statistically have alot less divorces
