is it against the law to look at porn on the internet?

just wondering. Friends of a friends son got arrested.

It is perfectly legal to make, distribute, and view pornography as long as it involves consenting adults. If the pornographic images involve minors (those under the age of 18), it is not legal to view, distribute, or make those images.

There has to be more to the story than that. The police wouldn't arrest anyone simply for looking at porn, even if they were under age. It's possible they were looking at child pornography which is illegal.

That depends highly upon what type of porn you are looking at.
