You go mad.

It depends on how old you are when this begins. Obviously if you are a baby, then you miss your most development experiences by not having human contact. For instance, a woman in Chicago locked up her infant son in an attic and only gave him small amounts of food. He was found at age 16, weighing only 23 pounds, unable to speak. His IQ was virtually non-existent because he never had ANY mental stimulation.

If you're older, it might not matter so much in such a dramatic way, but we are made to want to be around and need human contact.

I think there is evidence that supports the "you will go mad" writer. This is why solitary confinement for prisoners is such a painful punishment.

You would probaly lose the ability to hold a conversation.
But communication is less important than we think and many people can go for years not talking to another person.
But think of it this way 20 years of No- disagreements, arguments, useless chatter , peace of mind

You may go insane. There was a story recently in the Hungarian news about a WW11 POW from Hungary who was put in a POW camp in a small village in Russia. He couldn't communicate with them and they were very backwards to think he was speaking a made up language since Hungarian is not a common language. They thought he was insane and locked him up for the rest of his life.Somehow, someone figured out what language he was speaking just before he died so they sent his body back to Hungary to be buried. Sad story.

Differant for differant people
I would start talking to myself I know, and become socially inept. I know that. Humans are naturally social animals. Some people can survive with no people, but I can't, and many people can't.
Why? You thinking of becoming a hermit?
