First go see a counselor at the university you wish to attend. They should be able to help you with all the procedures. I have to warn you about initiation though. Wear a pillow on your butt every day! You will be fresh meat!

apply - many colleges will accept a candidate with a GED.

The advantage to going to community college first is that you would be applying as a transfer student. HS grades and SAT scores aren't considered in transfer applications.

Talk to either your High School Guidance Counselor, or to the admissions office of the univerisity you are considering.

Even if you did not graduate from a local high school, call the nearest one to your home and ask to talk to a guidance counselor. they are usually pretty willing to talk to anyone in the local community and offer free advice.
