I'm your worn in leather jacket
I'm the volume in your jacked up teenage band
A pack of smokes and a six pack
I'm the dreams you had walking down the railroad tracks
You and Me.
I'm your first taste of romance
I'm your first broken heart on a Saturday night
Folks like us ain't got no chance
But I'm the thing that keeps you and me alive
But not forever
So take me down the road
Take me to the show
Its something to believe in
That no one else knows
But don't take me for granted
I'm the blood on your guitar
I'm that wave you caught back in 1975
I'm as strong as a thousand armies
I'm as soft as petal on a long stem rose
I am love
I'm with you when you're born
You can take me when you die
With all the reasons why
But don't take me for granted

I think sometimes I am guilty of doing that, but mostly I make an effort not to take things for granted. I take great pleasure in simple things most of the time, especially if I am spending time with my girlfriend or doing "family" things with her and her son... he and I get along very well, so I am blessed in that respect. I also love simple things like reading, listening to music, entertaining and good friendships, spending time outdoors... the whole bit!
Peace, Love and Happiness to you, GEM!

I think we all do. I try not too though. When things are going badly, I try and keep hold of the simple things as a way of getting through. It really does help. *Peace* back at ya. ;o)

Everything is taken for granted until we lose them- health, money, friends, etc. Albert Einstein once said: "If you view the everyday like it's normal or you view everyday like it's a miracle, it changes everything."

No, they are usually the most important things.
Great acts are made up of a series of small ones.

I do, but work very hard not to. Trying to do better each day and count all of my blessings.
