No sorry, there is no law aginst it there. That is why they use that area. There was a special on the scams that come out of nigeria on 20/20 last week. There is really nothing we can do till there government starts cracking down on this crime. The problem is they already have enough to worry about and no man power to do it.

Big time scam. The 419 (international dialing code for Nigeria) scams have been going on for a long time. Whatever you do, don't contact them, don't send them any money. Make sure they don't get your telephone # or address. If you won $50,000, why would you have to send them $200.

I would have to assume that you know this is a scam. While you could sue them, you will never see any of your money. An American court likely has no jurisdiction in Nigeria. That is assuming you could find the scammers, which is nearly impossible.

Don't send them anything! It sounds like a SCAM to me! Isn't Nigeria a "poor" country? Where would they get $50,000 to send to a complete stranger?! (Unless that's what the $200 is for...to build up their "pot".)

No shoog! It's a scam, I just recieved the same email two or three weeks ago! I asked that same question and was told it was a scam by everyone, and I didn't listen and I lost $195.00! Report that email before you end up loosing alot of your money!

Ah, yes, the Nigerian 419 scam. Delete it and place on your block list. You can also report it, but that likely will not do much good.

Don't expect to win that money its most probably a scam, remember if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.
