If it has become increasingly slower, then start by defragging, and cleaning up old unused files. Defrag is available under the System Tools menu.

Run an anti virus as well as a malware cleaner, AVG is a good free antivirus, there are a number of malware cleaners out there.

If it is too slow to run newer programs, games etc. Then a hardware upgrade is what you need, and all the software in the world won't spped it up to what you need.

Also check your hard drive free space, to many programs will slow it down alot
