I believe Willie Randolph will be back with the Mets next year. He has a good head for baseball and can deal with the players, it would be a shame if he took the hit for a pitching staff that went south.

I tend to think not, and I hope not. I realize baseball jobs are about "What have you done for me lately", but consider the bigger picture here:
-it took Willie one season to turn a 90-95 loss-a-year club into a winner, and two to get within one game of the World Series. Yeah, the pitching imploded this past month or so, but how much of that is Willie's cross to bear?
-Just as he was as a player, Willie is a cool-headed pro who can handle his players AND the New York media/fans/general BS.
-If they did fire him, Willie'd be snatched up in a heartbeat and the Mets would end up with...who, exactly? Bobby Valentine? Art Howe? Steve Phillips?

I think Rick Peterson may go, deservedly or not. It kind of rubbed salt into the Met fans wound to see Heath Bell pitching so well for the Padres last night. This guy was run out of town for a bag of balls (actually Ben Johnson and someone else who were total non - factors with the Team) because he and Peterson didn't see eye to eye. Well the guy was bringing it last night and there were probably about 15 - 20 games in September that this guys arm coming in from the bullpen would have been a welcome sight for Met fans.

I don't think so at least according to the buzz on the sports shows, who normally are for firing of coaches after something like this. Then again we know sports writers are usually full of it.
White Sox didn't fire there manager after this season in fact they extended Ozzy's contract.

I think it would be a shame to fire him. He is a quality manager but in New York, when they fail, there has got to be a scape goat. I think you need to give him a year, with out aging arms in the rotation and a decent bull pin. Then see what he could do.

No, I don't think so.
If so, he will be quickly hired by another team desperate to be in a penannt race.
