Cover your @ss! Create a large legal barrier between yourself and the public.
Don't overpay the talent. You can get guys for free but pay em something for legal reasons. Chicks get a little but don't go crazy. There's lots of talent out there.
Remember who your competition is. They aren't pleasant people so you really wanna remain as anonymous as possible.
Hook up with an internet pay source, paypal etc...
Talk to a lawyer. Cannot emphasize this enough!
Hook up w/ a directory like thehun.com .
Tell your family whatever you want.
It IS a good idea. After your initial investment there's not a lot of overhead.

Depends, If they monitor your computer, they'll see it.
It's not something i'd ever suggest.
Watch for predators and perverts.(IE don't post any sort of address's or names). NEVER meet with any of them. keep it all online. ja?..
If you are under 18, Don't do it. because its illegal. you and your parents can get jail time.
The way you know is how bad you wan't to do it.
