I can't seem to contact them online or find the answer on their site. My GoPhone is not working properly and I want a new phone. I've heard that you can just change out the SIM card to a new phone but everyone I've known that has tried this has said it doesn't work. I don't want to have to re-sign up and get a new number. Anyone know what to do?

I DO NOT want to switch to another carrier...AT&T is the only one with coverage in my area.

If it works like the regular plan phones (it's the same network so it should) all you need to do is get either a "unlocked" phone or a AT&T specific phone and put your current sim card into the new phone. Run through your menu options and you should be able to save all your contacts on the Sim chip so when you plug it into your new cell you are ready to go! I've done it several times with a service phone, but never on a GoPhone. Good luck

Just buy another gophone and put your sim card in it. I bought a motorola c168i at SamsClub last week for 18.99. Some places will tell you that you have to activate the phone to buy it and some places you can just buy the phone without activation. They also sell go phones at Walmart. I got the motorola for my neighbor (she doesn't have prepaid, she has a regular account but her phone wasnt acting right) and she loves it. It has absolutely NO frills but as a phone it works great for her.
