I have a hp photosmart 2575 all-in-one printer..im having a problem with the right hand ink cartridge i keep getting the (remove and check cartridge on right) message coming up on the printer screen.its a new black ink cartridge so it maybe faulty as i have never had this problem in the past...what do you guys think any ideas what maybe wrong????

Take the cartridge out and get some Q tips and 99% isopropyl alcohol, dip the Q tip into the alcohol, turn the Q tip sideways and clean the small contact board on the cartridge and do the same with the printer, make sure the Q tip is alwas clean so you could use a few. If you still have the old cartridge hold it up to the new one and see if the small contact board has the same contact spots in the same place, the cartridge might have a board problem so you might want to buy another one but refill the cartridges yourself HP is not to bad to refill. good luck

Hi. On the back of the cartridge are small copper dots. Make sure they are clean. Try the "Clean printer head" utility. Finally, replace the unit and see if it works (expensive).

Clean the contacts on the cartridge and also the contacts on the printer.
It may also be a defective new cartridge. It does happen.
