Because their ultimate goal is to have everyone included, whether they want/need it or not. This proposal is a step in the wrong, (democrat/socialist), direction. Knowing the president will veto the irresponsible bill will make it appear to those who don't pay close attention to the facts as though Bush doesn't care for sick children.
Todays Democratic party, (at least all of the presidential candidates), has become the party of big federal government, higher taxes, entitlements, collectivism, Socialism, more "free" stuff trying to appeal to the masses, weak on national defense and pro illegal immigrant. In my opinion, they stand for so many things that would weaken the US.

That's just preposterous, you need to think for yourself and not just accept Democratic propaganda. Bushes tax cuts led to some record years of revenue from income tax. It didn't cost 2.3 trillion. Time and again, tax cuts, while not instantaneously, lead to higher income for the government. It happens on the state level as well as the federal. Increased taxes generally lead to decreased income. It's very simple. When the economy keeps it's capital, then it can grow. When January rolls around, all tax payers are going to get hit with some uncomfortable increases as the Democrats let these cuts expire. It won't just be the wealthy and small business owners who invest in the economy and provide jobs. The marriage penalty will be back, families will be further burdened and jobs will be at risk in 2011. On top of that, the national debt and deficit will continue to grow and burden future generations (if we survive that is).

Today's tax brackets are all messed up, if you take into account inflation, you had to make 3.2 million a year to be in the top tax bracket through the 1950s. Of course, you were taxed 90%, eventually Kennedy lowered it to 70%, but closed loop holes for the ultra rich. They need to raise the top bracket back to 3.2 million a year and make it automatically adjust for inflation.

I am 45 years old with 2 college degrees and I make less than 40K and I can tell you there is no way I could afford insurance on my own. They want 7K to fix 3 teeth and that was 2 years ago. For me that equals 2.5 months pay (The dentist was soooo generous and told I could borrow the money from them...).
I filed for bankruptcy 5 years ago to pay for my daughters ongoing medical treatment. It was pay the rent or pay the medical bills, I had a choice. Some thing has to change!

A family making $80,000 can easily afford health care, just as a family making $40,000. Raising taxes seems to be the only thing Democrats are competent at.

It's strange, back when Clinton was President I had a great healthcare plan paid for by my employer, I had extra savings. In 2002 I was laid off (medical field, ironic, uh?)
Now, I can't afford health coverage, I have to dip into my depleting savings in case of an emergency.
Funny? Strange? Ironic?
No, just sad.

They are "poor" because of all the taxes they pay,
income
property
sales
sin
gas
road
Next they'll want a tax on sex,$10.00 at a time and they'll guestimate how much you owe.

If they can't catch you one way they will find another. It's a system designed to make people rely on the government in hopes of moving towards a more socialist nation...
Hillary is a scary thought. Socialized healthcare is even 10 times scarier.

One major surgery can cost over $1,000,000
At the rate inflation is going, $80,000 per year will be the norm in a few years. Republicans have destroyed the economy.

Actually a family making 40K a year has a hard time with healthcare. Believe me, I know.
