So here's a little known, real-world fact about me.
I'm one of those (quite frankly awesome) people who inherited my Heterochromia from my grandfather.

For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a genetic condition (I hate those who call it a disorder) which has given me two different coloured eyes. Think 'Australian Sheep-dogs'.
What would have been a warm hazel hue inherited from my mother, in fact only turned out half of what was expected. :P
I have the one hazel eye (if a little richer than normal) and one brighter green one with two hazel streaks through it.

During my highschool years I had a hard time as you would expect with a lot of name calling. At one point I bought some contact lenses and only used the one in my 'different' eye. That didn't work too well. However, growing up I got used to it all and now I think of it as a redeeming quality.

Have you ever met someone the same as me?

What's your take on this?

Incidentally, try giving it a look-see on
Wikipedia before you answer. :P

Dude, you ever hear of David Bowie? Every single rock and roll fan from the 60s, 70s and 80s knows Bowie has the same condition. If you were a little older and grew up with his music being played everywhere then I doubt if the kids in your school at that time would have given you such a hard time. I hope you are as talented, in your own way, and become as famous as Bowie has.

This rare condition may have been a hindrance to you growing up but could easily draw attention in a field where success depends on attention drawn.

Other kids who would give you a hard time for something you are born with are just little creeps and losers anyway and you should have simply ignored or avoided them.

It is such rare condition that most people will probably never notice seeing such a person in their lifetime with different colored eyes unless it was pointed out to them.

I have heterochromia too! Except I have a blue eye and a brown eye. I always got different opinions on them. When i was younger, kids used to tell me I was "scary looking" and "freaky". Now (im 19) people say its cool...but Im not sure if they're saying that to be nice. Plus i can always tell when people are staring. So Two years ago, I got color contacts for both my eyes! Its pretty awesome, I can go blue or brown whenever I want! Just go see your optometrist if its really bothering you. I just wish i had the confidence, and not care about it and be proud of my heterochromia. Hope this helps!
