anyone get this message :

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.

how did yuo resolve the problem?

I would try either reinstalling the drivers that came with the sound card or (and this would be better) go to manufacturer's web site e.g. ATI, Nvidia and download the latest drivers for your soundcard and operating system and then install them.

Tha usually sorts out the problem. If you try this and it doesn't work then add to your question or post a new one

I had the same issue with XP and an older sound card.

I removed the sound card through the device manager, then reinstalled it.

Then I bough a better sound card...:)

you probably havent or hevent correctly installed ur sound hardware. go to control panel and open the sound icon. it will tell
