No, visitation is a right of the child. Providing that the child will not be harmed by visitation it is never denied.

In many U.S. states, no child visitation cannot be denied if child support is owed. Check your state's guidelines on this one. If you are the person thinking about denying visitation on the basis of owed child support, YOU could wind up in jail.

No..it can only be denied by the courts...untill then or the person gets arrested for non payment..they have a right to visit a child...of course I would be leary of a non supervised visit..there could be problems like the parent runs off with the kids or murder suicide...I woujld try and get a temp restraining order until a judge or DA takes care of the problem parent.

No. No. No.
The visitation and support are two different issues. You do not have the right to withhold visitation from the obligor parent. If you do, you could be held in contempt. If child support is owed you contact an attorney or your state Attorney General office.

No. Child support and visitation are two separate issues.
A mother/father can not deny visitation if the other is in arrears. If one does deny visitation he/she can be held in contempt of the visitation clause outlined in the order.

The courts take a dim view of that. It looks better when you go to court for back support, that the child was available as per the court order. But that doesn't mean he can make demands that aren't in the order, like, you have to bring the child, or he can drop in anytime, you don't have to do anything you didn't sign up for.

I'm not sure if it is different from state to state.
In the state of Pennsylvania, owed child support does not affect visitation in any way. They are two seperate orders in the eyes of the court.

As unfair as it is the answer is no. I dont think its right but I have recently learned that the law isnt fair about alot of things when it comes to children. You can be held in contempt but they arent held in contempt if they dont get the child like the divorce papers state. That isnt fair either.
