The single would have been `Strange kind of Woman` By Deep Purple and the LP either something by The Four Tops or the Isley Brothers.

I bought the first Beatles album for £1-10s, and the first Stones album for 31s and 6d in 1963, when I was nine years old. Saved up my pocket money. How cool is that?

The first vinyl single I bought was Xanadu by Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch, a mothers day gift as my mom loved that song.
My first album was a K-Tel 70's compilation disco album.

Fist album was "The Dukes of Dixieland", which I think was their first album.
Both bought in the early 60's
