I make candles and I sell them on consignment in a store and I also have an online store. I have tried the flea market, not a lot of business. I do better at craft shows. There are literally thousands of us out there on the market. Don't expect to make a bunch a money unless you can offer something that no one else offers as there are to many of us. Try hair salons, consignment shops, gift shops or even art guilds. Hope this helps. My web site is www.butterflycandles.net

Contact your city's chamber of commerce, and find out when all of the upcoming craft fairs are. This is an excellent chance for you to make contacts, distribute business cards, gage your competition, meet customers, and other people with similar interests as you. You can also check your local newspaper for early warnings of craft fairs-- sometimes schools and churches have them on the weekends, and the booth fees tend to be less than the city sponsored ones typically held at parks.

You work hard to make your candles; now promote yourself and earn some money!

Good luck to you with earning money doing something you love!

Candles are an item that does a lot better in person. If you go on your local newspaper website and do a search on "craft fair", you will find that lots of organizations are gearing up for their Holiday fairs. This is an excellent time of year.

Make sure you have lots of signage explaining why soy is better, and lots of pretty packaging for those who are looking for a ready-made gift. Offer a big option for corporate gift-giving - bosses or admin. assistants looking for nice things that they can buy a lot of.

Try Etsy.com they have alot of homemade crafts, candles etc. It is very easy to sign up for. My friend sells her handmade quilts, purses, etc on there and does very well. Have fun and good luck from one soy candle lover to another!

That's a hard one unless you can find a niche market for your candles by having something which distinguishes them from others. Other than that two things work for a product like this, a celebrity mentioning it and then everyone wants it or you mass produce them and work on volume.

The internet would be a good place to start. You might try and get them into small stores on consignment. You could even try and sell them to groups that do fund raising and have their members sell them from door to door. For example, like a softball team, or girl's club.

good luck.

Online always works, but kind of slow. Local arts/crafts fair work. County fairs, farmers markets are also good. Small boutiques/shops (not chains) are great too. Also flea markets. My best customers are the people I work with. Once they smell them and try one, they just keep coming back!
