Trees in Bible:
1. Date Palm tree (Phoenix dactylifera) Heb.(Ps.92.14 "The just man shall flourish like the Palm tree, like a Cedar of Lebanon..." Lev.23.40, Jn.12.13). Palm leaves used to great Jesus as he entered Jerusulem. Jericho was the ´city of palm-trees´. Bethany was ´the house of dates.

2 Weeping willow, (Salix Babylonica), (Job.40.17 "the willows of the brook shall compass him", Is.15.7 "they shall lead them to the torrent of the Willows." 44.4 "as Willows beside the running waters.").

3 Fig tree Matthew 21:19 tells us Jesus cursed a fig tree: "Let there be no more fruit from you forever. And the fig tree immediately dried up."

4 Oak Gen.35.8, "Debora...buried ...at the foot of an Oak tree." Josh.24.26, ´Oak of Bashan´ in Is.2.13, Ezek.27.6 "cut their oars out of the Oaks of Basan" Zech.11.2 is probably Quercus aegilops..

5. Cedar Is 2.13 ""upon all the tall & lofty Cedars.." Zech 11.2 "for the Cedar is fallen"

6. Myrtle & Poplar Lev.23.40, "You shall gather foliage from majestic trees, branches of palms & boughs of Myrtles & of valley Poplars & then for a week you shall make merry before the Lord, your God."

7. Aspens Ps.137.2 "On the Aspens of that land we hung our harps"

There are thirty-seven differently named trees.
Some -- such as cypress, shittah, ash, and teil -- appear only once.
Others -- notably the palm, olive, fig, and cedar -- occur many times.
