I plug the speakers to my computer audio but no sound coming out. I went into the control pannel to see what was going on and found out that the audio sign has an exclamation mark on it. The audio control pannel is blank.

Did you install a new operating system? Reformat?

It sounds like you need to reinstall the software that came with the speakers and sound card (if there were any). If none came with it and they are plug and play speakers, you need to download the audio codecs and drivers to your motherboard. You can do this by looking at the motherboard type, going on their website and downloading them. If you need any assistance, let me know.

There are 3 possibilities.

You need a suitable driver, go to makers website and look for downloads.

Your sound card has been disabled.

Your sound card has died.

Rt click my computer, click properties, click hardware, click device manager. Scroll down looking for sound cards etc, it probably has a yellow " ! " next to it. Click the " + ", double click the entry for your card, it will tell you a) it is working ok or b) no driver loaded or c) in the box below enabled or not.

This is always your starting place for hardware diagnosis.
