YES !!
And every time that button is clicked there should be an automatic and immediate notification of a Yahoo manager . That manager should review the post first , and then if it's truly a threat or even close , the FBI should be notified without delay .
And I say that for no matter who's president , dem or rep .
EDIT*** - Isn't it amazing that so many of these libs see this as a free speech issue and don't even seem to know that it's quite illegal to threaten the president ?

My heavens, I never have been flashed, but I did unintentionally flash a few folks once. I was in the hospital some time back and decided to take a stoll to the vending area. Well, I wasn't thinking about what I was wearing and, let's just say that those hospital gowns don't leave a lot to the imagination on the backside. The nurse came up from behind me and put a blanket over my shoulders . . . I was wondering why it was a little drafty back there!

There is, it is me. When I see a threat on the Presidents life or let's say Hillary Clinton as a candidate, I report it as illegal, and as a threat. Yahoo will send those reports off to the secret service for action, and then it is up to the Secret Service to determine if it is a legitimate threat. It is against the law and will be dealt with harshly even if the culprit, was "joking". The problem is, is that a lot of these users are from outside the US and "act" like they are American citizens to incite hate. They also use fictitious names and send from public institutions like libraries and colleges. Secret Service will track them down though, have no fear..

No, those who are serious about that sometimes don't say they intend to do that. I don't think Squeeky Fromme told anyone she intended to take out President Ford. If she did it was just a few within a tight circle of friends. Lee Harvy Oswald didn't openly advocate the assassination of John F. Kennedy. John Wilks Booth publicly wished the death of Abraham Lincoln but many Southerners and Southern sympathizers said the same thing and so he was not taken seriously. Maybe he should have been.
It isn't like Staples, there is no easy button. The secret service knows who is threatening the life of the President. I have only seen one or two on YA who have done that. It is not wise to make statements of that nature even if one is kidding.
Disagreement is not advocating one's demise. While I very strongly disagree with George W. Bush and his policies and decisions I do not wish his death. I may wish him out of office but certainly not his death. Most people seem to believe as I do. Killing a President solves nothing.

Yes, there IS a difference between free speech and threatening to kill someone, especially the President.
It's perfectly fine to disagree with someone and to openly admit that, but to say you'd want to take someone's life? What's WRONG with you if you'd do that??

You are so naive! I would think the FBI, CIA and Home security are already monitoring all these sites in the web, where there is so called "free speech".. Just think for a minute.....they are eavesdropping on the phones, reading the mail of "individuals of interest", keeping a vigilant society and building a virtual fence around the south border, don't' you think this place and others are being monitored.....of course! and started probably LONG TIME AGO...
so do not worry about the life of the president ..they know, they spy on us, so they know who is a threat or not.
sleep well at night, everything is under control....

Should there also be a "special" report button called the "Threatened the lives of Democratic politicians, Muslims, Jews, members of the GLBT community" button?
I can guarantee you that report button would be buzzing, thanks to the hateful comments of the Right.

There is a little button. It's called Report It. And also it helps to take a screenshot and foward it to the proper authorties. I do it all the time with threats against our President.
You can't be too careful today in the post-9/11 world.

Just like the movie "minority report", they should be castrated in public while bush and cheney drink their blood. That will silence all dissent fast.
