The lungs look pink because of the mixture of oxygen being taken up and expelled through the capillaries. you know...the process of breathing...We have a lot of blood cells used for oxygen transportation in our lungs at any given time...

This is just a guess -- probably the capillaries accessing the air in the lungs.
