The lungs look pink because of the mixture of oxygen being taken up and expelled through the capillaries. you know...the process of breathing...We have a lot of blood cells used for oxygen transportation in our lungs at any given time...

the flow of blood that is traveling through them as the are very thin and some thing like a air filter that has little pleats all through them to filter out trash and take in the clean air that the body can use.
