I work hard and am very successful in my career. I make lots of money, more than I need as I am not materialistic, and don't mind being taxed higher in order to help my fellow humans. I think if everyone felt this way, the U.S. would be a wonderful country for all its citizens.

In a way, I do pay a share of some of your taxes since I may be in a higher tax bracket. And I do not mind at all.
And I am not a teenage boy, although I played one on TV once.

I commend you for working hard, however, I work hard, too.
I would love to make more money than I need. But I don't. I don't make enough. And still my taxes go to help those who are as capable as I am to work. I don't mind helping the elderly, in fact, we're duty bound to help them. I don't mind helping the sick, they can't help themselves. I have two charities that I give to each year.

I know that people lose jobs for various reasons, get down on their luck, and just need a hand up. I don't mind that. I don't mind helping people who desire a better education in order to better their situation.

I'm a working single mother who barely makes ends meet. I have teenage sons, one is old enough to work and does. Next year when the youngest is old enough to work, he will. I'll make him. Meanwhile they both mow lawns on weekends.

Now tell me, why is right that I work 6 days a week, my son works 5 days, they both mow yards on weekends and yet part of our money goes to crack heads, illegals, and people who are just too lazy to get up and work? Justify that. Why can't those folks get a job just like me and my kids and struggle for the American dream?

why don't you try to stop stereotyping people and being ignorant, with the way you group people, I hardly believe you are intelligent enough to make a lot of money, at least not through legal means.

that's dumb, sure people making millions don't mind being taxed but what about someone making $100 to $200 k? They aren't making enough to just ignore a budget, they still have to live within their means and still have bills to pay and have to afford to provide for their family.

I don't know why liberals think that everything is the same and everything is a one size fits all.

Then by definition you are for inequality. PERIOD

All people should be taxed the same in terms of percentage of income. Success should not be punished. Personal responsibility should be back on the person and not a task or job of the federal government (or any government level). Government is not charity, nor should it be. Charity is voluntary and should be voluntary. I am all for helping our fellow man/woman out of the goodness of our heart, but not forced by the government.

It is a statistically proven fact that conservatives give far more in time and money to charity to help the poor.

I am successful, I make good money and I served 10 years in the US Navy.

I am not a racist and I have workmates whom I greatly respect for their hard work who are gay.

I am willing to pay taxes to upkeep our nations defense, our infrastructure and to help those who truly need the help (i.e. the elderly who do not have family to help them, the truly disabled and those with good work histories but, have temporally lost their jobs).

I am a conservative.

That's nice and all but you don't have any business telling other people how to live. Someone that works hard for money has a right to expect themselves to keep it without it going to someone else, they did earn it after all. You can be complacent with higher taxes going to social services, or you can fight those that would do that; neither choice is wrong.

I dont think conservatives are the only people who act opposite to what you just said. Actually what you said is stereotyping conservatives and I dont see how you do that when its blantantly obvious that all people act different from one another.

(BTW to consider yourself someone who people should aspire to be means you have a lot of pride in yourself, while not always a bad thing, I would respect you a lot more if you were more humble.)

If you were to take that money that you claim not to need and just start giving it to needy people, more of the money would get to them that it does with the federal government doing the distribution.

Sorry, if I want to help my fellow humans I will give to charity.

If I want my money to be wasted by bureaucracy, I'll give it to the government.

You have the right name under your avatar. I am a conservative. I don't work, because I am not willing to pay taxes. You are welcome to pay taxes for me, if you wish. It would make us both feel better.

I don't want to pay more taxes period. I get taxed enough and still people can't be helped. Do you see a problem with that?
